Eli Wewentxu

Mapuche artist originally from PLC - Temuco, Gülumapu - Wallmapu, now known as south-central Chile.

He trained as a violinist from an early age and studied music performance with a focus on violin and chamber music in various locations in Latin America and Europe. Creatively, he works with improvisation and musical composition, video, and conducting workshops for children in rural schools in Wallmapu.

In his research, he works with the idea of redefining listening from a personal narrative linked to his cultural identity and the territory of resistance to which he belongs.

He currently lives in his community located in Gülumapu, where he works the land and cares for animals.
